Astronomy Class, Playing WITH TELESCOPES...

The astronomy class was really good.

The best part was going at Deeksh’s place after the school. I never wanted it to end. We just went there for 2 hrs that was ALL!...hadh ho gai!
Though as soon as we reached we changed in a sec. she had a really good house, or u can say OK, because they are not settled there properly so the walls are not painted that well so something. ‘They are not settled yet’ by this I mean that her dad is in air force so they get transfer almost after every year…so it is pretty difficult!...Anyways, after that we had lunch an as usual my fav, rajma chawal, panner and raita..And in dessert gulabjamun…LOVE IT!

After we finished our lunch we went out to have a walk…and sat in the park, chit-chatted a bit and went into the mess, into the TV room!

By the time it was our astronomy class time we were having fun…but anyways we reached on time and we were given instructions and were distributed into groups of 6. My group number was 8. Each group was given a telescope, and we were given assignments to aim objects in sky from telescopes;

  • · Our first objective was to aim VENUS, which was damn difficult!...and thanks to almighty our telescopes were the worst one..Lol! But we did it. From the eyepiece of our telescopes Venus looked like no ordinary star, cause the telescope’s mirrors didn’t have much focal length, so it jus appeared as a STAR…but its light was so bright that while focusing on it one’s eye might start kind of itching!

  • · Our second objective was to aim MOON in the sky, which was very DIRTY and MUDDY because moon is always situated on zenith (exact above ones head) and u have to literally lay down in the mud and locate moon. When we saw moon through eyepiece once it was aimed, it looked jus so pretty. The craters on it were jus so…heartthrowbing. It seemed as if am standing next to it!...lol!

  • · Our third objective was to aim SATURN in the sky, which was very dim in the sky but we located it. When seen from the eyepiece it seemed like a dot surrounded by an oval, i.e. one could see Saturn with its rings…but it wasn’t THAT CLEAR!

After that we were taken to other telescopes which were BIG, and we saw moon more clearly and the craters looked huge…they were very clear…and very nice and then again we saw Saturn in which the rings were clear, but the dot like Saturn and oval like rings were clear but there wasn’t any difference between the sizes!!!

After that we were taught how to find a pole star at night and we found many constellations like: big dipper,orion, big dog, Taurus, calespia, etc!

It was just fun!!!
Ciao, Tc enjoy!
